| H & R Machine, Inc. opened its doors as a machine job shop under the
direction of founder, Joe Harville, in Giddings, Texas on February 14,
1982. Joe was born in Yazoo, Mississippi November 29, 1945, but lived most of his life in Odessa, Texas. He married Barbara Stover, also from Odessa, in 1965 and they raised three sons, Johnny, Leonard, and Joseph aka Kiley. Joe's work background was primarily as a machinist. he brought his family to Giddings, Texas in 1980 and as a family they set their sights and desires toward opening a machining facility to serve the oil and gas industry, while raising their children in a small town environment. Since H & R machine's inception in 1982, Barbara began the bookkeeping responsibilities for the company and she currently serves as Administrator. As the years rolled by, the children were grown, educated and started families of their own. Having literally assisted their Mom and Dad from the very beginning, they each have an endearing kinship for H & R Machine. Thus, each have committed as employees of the corporation uniquely in their field to share the leadership, growing pains and responsibilities of a growing company. We entered into natural gas engine service work and engine overhauls in 1985, servicing primarily gas compressor engines and compressors. Presently, H & R Machine employees 27 people with time in service ranging from 1 to 15 years. Ours is not just a staff, but rather a team working together toward one common goal --- satisfying the customer. We are experienced, knowledgable and willing. The reputation of H & R Machine for quality, timely overhauls and service has endured and grown. We have averaged annually 30 - 50 shop and field overhauls for several years. In September, 2005, we added our newly built engine overhaul assembly plant in an effort to streamline our operations. Align boring, block machining, connecting rod, rocker arm and head reconditioning are in house capabilities. Crankshaft inspection, crack detection, and polishing are also done in house. Crankshaft replacement is supported with inventory of exchange-reconditioned shafts for most engines. Our cylinder head reconditioning department is fully equipped with the latest machining equipment and is regarded throughout the area as tops in quality. Our field mechanical services are also handled with a fleet of fully equipped service vehicles. With this support fleet, we are able to assist clients with engine change out or turn key the job. We also offer field machine repairs to engine blocks and compressor frames as well as metal lock services Key to our well-rounded services is our on site parts department under the supervision of qualified personnel. By maintaining a substantial inventory of parts which includes an engine exchange program, H & R Machine can complete jobs for customrs in a more timely and efficient manner. |
